NEW FRIENDS AND FUN TIMES

Last weekend I flew to Rexburg, Idaho to spend "mother's weekend" with Danelle on the beautiful BYU-Idaho campus. To start with on the plane, I sat next to a mom from Oregon going to the same event and made my first new friend. We shared stories of our lives and friends (like all women do). Danelle picked me up in Idaho Falls and we hurried to our first activity...a tour of the campus in a covered golf cart (the wind was blowing). Danelle is a Director of the campus Ambassador program which coordinates these tours for visitors to the campus among other things. A couple of her roommates and moms went with us. It was fun to not only experience what she does everyday but hear her "speal" and enjoy. After the tour all the roommates and moms went to see "The Battle of the Dance" where students from the school entertained us with selections of dance routines. The MC stoled the show with his wit, humor and antics.

By now we were starving....the girls had planned a dinner at Olive Gardens in Idaho Falls so off we went. This was not just great food but even greater company. We all got along so well and LOVED getting to know each other. We were from Washington, Ohio, Arizona, and Nevada.
I then went to Dustin and Cassies where I was able to visit with them, Cassie's mom, Jackie, and sisters, Michelle, Kelly and Stacy from Warden, Washington till I couldn't stay awake any longer (1AM). Cassie is really showing and they are preparing for their little girl, MacKenzie (see on their blog)

The next morning all us moms and daughters attended classes with "the best" speakers. My favorite was taught by David A. Christiansen, "Becoming An Elect Lady". What an uplifting hour with one who truly was inspired and motivating! If you EVER have the opportunity to hear him run don't walk to hear him.

In the afternoon we had a luncheon hosted by Pres. Clark and it was beautiful with great food, videos, and music. We were some of first to arrive and had to wait about half an hour while the rest got out of classes. You can see Pres. Clark in this picture below:

Off to shopping till we dropped! It was fun to spend time with Danelle and make her so happy with some new things...especially a red coat that looked so beautiful on her. We all collapsed at Dustin's afterwards and visited the rest of the night while looking at the stash for Mackenzie and Cassie (look on their blog). It was snowing the next morning when Dustin took me to the airport. There was some compact snow and ice which had caused several car accidents that morning. One we passed had several cars involved! As I fly up and away I looked down on the beautiful white covered fields. It had been a wonderful weekend and I was exhausted! How great it is to be part of Heavenly Father's church that makes time for parents and children to enjoy each other's company and grow closer together.Danelle, please add pictures from your camera.....
