DAD'S STAY AT "CAMP JOINT"

Well Dad was pretty tired and weary so we decided he needed a getaway to "Camp Joint" where he could rest. He was soooo happy when I shot this picture before giving him a kiss goodbye.

They promised him he'd make lots of friends, be one of the many "cutups" in the camp, and have a great room (Mt Olympus Room) with a view of Mt. Rainier

Look how he perked up after a few days. Loved the white pantyhose which was part of uniform.
He'd also have room service with woman and men in colorful uniforms bringing him steaks, pork chops and other great food, a "workout" room where he could go with a personal trainer, and he would be able to stay in bed the first couple of days and then move about the camp grounds as much as he wanted.
Family could come and visit as often as they wanted. I was going to miss him but knew he needed the getaway.........

You know how you always make a camp buddy you get into mischief with.....well, Dad did too. His name was Greg and he was from Orting. They didn't shave or bathe for four days!!!!

Jack did go into St. Joseph Hospital's Camp Joint to have his hip replacement on Jan. 26th. He has been in a lot of pain for months and finally they decided it was time. He went through the surgery like a trooper and is really getting around well. He especially enjoyed the grandkid's drawings and cards and all the phone calls.
After four days he was able to go home and finish recuperating. He was really excited to go out into the fresh air....in only his shorts and t-shirt of course. I'm enjoying nursing him since he has done it for me sooooo many times. He's a pretty good patient!
