PRETTY FLOWERS, PRETTY GIRLS AND FABULOUS FLOATS....

I have always wanted to go to the Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon and finally got an opportunity to attend with Kay, Tom, Auntie Tiney, Cal, Cousin Terry and Ken. We rode the Max (train) to the colliseum and got great seats (thanks to Cal's daughter who is one of the organizers of the parade) inside colliseum to see the parade drive by right in front of us. It was raining outside so this was even more wonderful. There were such great colors of flowers, ethnic floats, bands, dancers and gorgeous decorated horses, decorated saddles, and riders (usually queen of a rodeo), cute and fun clowns, and so much more. It was such a fun time. I even had a snowcone but it didn't even come close to the Kauai shaved ice! Tom and Ken practiced the "princess wave" at the end of the parade!Ha After the parade we went back and had a BIG spread at Auntie Tineys and talked and laughed till the wee hours. We could all feel grandma there and glad we were together.
