People came as far away as Portland, Spanaway, Vancouver (Washington), Spokane, Bonny Lake, Arizona, and other cities in Washington. There were "hippys" everywhere and those dressed in their letter sweaters/coats, poodle skirts, rolled up jeans/white T-shirts, and bandanas. Three of their children Paul, Jason, Kristin hosted the party but Jonathan, serving in the military stationed in Colorado, could not make it home.
Shari had made well over two hundred trivia cards with questions about the 50-60 era to answer at each table which really made you think AND LAUGH! Paul did the same kind of game only just with trivia on Tom/Kay in the same era. You never REALLY know anyone till they are "roasted". LOL
Then we were treated to a barbecue of hamburgers, hotdogs, many salads, chips, vegetable trays, and all the drinks you could devour. Even had rootbeer floats delivered to our tables by a cute little waitress (who forgot her rollerskates) A gorgeous birthday cake was served but they didn't make them blow out 60 candles....darn!
Elvis did drop in and we were all very excited to see him and lots of pictures were taken with the famous entertainer.
People also danced to 50-60's music, played pool, played foosball, laughed, talked, renewed friendships, made friends, and EAT. Then those who were not ready to go home went to Kay/Tom's house and continued the party till about ten that night. One of my favorite picture moments was all the grandkids huddled up in the family room watching "Rin Tin Tin" before everyone left for home. It was really a fun day! Thanks to all who put in so much hard work to make it happen......
You deserved this wonderful party to celebrate your lives. You done so much good and people appreciate you're always being willing to serve. May your lives be blessed with health and happiness as you continue together in these "golden years".
