Sturgis National Cemetary (South Dakota)

One of the first things the kids did was see this little frog and said, "grandpa knows we're here."

Dad spoke to gentleman mowing the lawn in how to read the numbers to find grandpa Homer...we told him he had a real job of "honor" mowing this grass. He said, "I feel that every day I'm out here."

Isn't this just the most beautiful sight!!!

Grandpa Homer's headstone in amongst the thousands of other military heroes!

Dad had "found" grandpa Homer and really was so happy...you can see it on his face!

Dad and two sons (Dustin/Darin) in front of grandpa Homer's headstone...

Kenzie had been running around with the kids and all of a sudden she stopped and sat down in front of grandpa Homer's headstone and didn't move for a couple of minutes. It was like she knew and felt something we couldn't. It was really a spiritual moment for all of us watching her.

Dad (Jack) and I (Marilyn) in front of grandpa Homer's headstone....we love him and hope he is there preparing a place for us....

Dad (Jack)in front of Elva's headstone...

Jack had a little alone time and I knew he was thinking about grandpa and grateful he was in such a wonderful place...

Well, it was time to go and we said our goodbyes and walked respectfully through the cemetary...

As we left we looked at this beautiful sight with the flags waving over the white headstones of all these heroes....

Driving away from National Cemetary we knew Grandpa Homer was happy where he was and glad we came for a visit!
