Jay's birthday (3rd)was the day before they came to Danette/Matt so we decided we needed to have a birthday party since he'd never had one. Saturday night Dad and I made/decorated a cake for him and planned/prepared one of his favorite meals, chicken/rice casserole, and put up some colorful balloons everywhere.
After church, everyone came over. We had dinner first and then Auntie Cookie and Trina took the kids and some carrots to feed the horses up the street. After some time outside in the fresh air all came in to open presents and eat some yummy strawberry cake/ice cream. Below, after seeing balloons on wall and got so excited!
Danette had dished Jess up some dinner in the high chair and then got to visiting....all of a sudden we saw Paul over at the table feeding her. They were laughing and having a really "personal" experience together. They were FAST friends all day long and it was so nice to have Paul here because he isn't always able to make it!
Jay was very excited and really didn't know how to act as this was not something he really understood. He just sort of did whatever we instructed him to do. Opening the presents was of course, one of the funnest parts since he didn't really come with any toys (a couple of cars, motorcycle and ball) but he didn't seem to understand they were all his to take home. Isn't this shirt cute Trina got him?????
We sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" while music played on a special cake top I'd bought for all the birthdays at my house, and then had the cake/ice cream and visited while the kids played.
