OFF WE GO TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE......

Several months ago Danette was ask to attend a seminar in Washington D.C. associated with her position at Alaska Airlines. She ask if we would watch the four little munchkins for five days so Matt could join her and they could do a mini-tour of D.C. Of course, we like to take advantage of having any of the grandkids alone without the parents telling us what we can and can't do! LOL So Tuesday night Matt brought them over ready for bed....NOT! They were excited and bed was the last thing on their minds the rest of the week! We had so many things to experience...all free and only involved our time/love/effort...
Some of the fun things we did through the week:
  • tried on grandpa's shoes
  • bubble baths
  • baked cake
  • made brownies
  • made tents
  • went to Pinewood Derby races (Abbie won third place trophy and ribbon)
  • made cardboard forts/decorated them at Aunt Cookie's house (she has the funnest house anywhere)
  • jumped on the trampoline
  • yard surfed
  • watched cowboy movies with grandpa
  • went fishing with neighbor kids in grandma's creek (they are catching small ones and letting them go)
  • went to church and made new friends
  • went on picnic to "flaming gacier" park
  • through frisbee
  • through rocks in the river and grandpa taught us to "skip rocks"
  • picked flowers
  • snuggled in grandma's bed
  • ate really good food....loved spagetti and wanted it every night

I don't really know why the Lord thought we needed so blessed when their are others who need some blessings, too, but I'm glad he loves us so much that he did. We are exhausted but feel so grateful to have gotten to know our little grandchildren better. They were so good and we all literally "fell" into bed at night because we were so tired (okay maybe we fell harder). LOL Thanks Carlos, Jay, Jess and Baby Sean for "hanging" with the "seniors" and be patient with us trying to keep up with you. Love you much!

Aunt Cookie just wants to say that the cardboard box/forts/hidingplaces/artpaper/and finally surf boards totalled 3 hours of cardboard box fun! We'll do it again when everyone can be there!

Thanks to all who watched the kids so we could have our first trip away without the kids.

Love you--
